Self bows are made from a single, individually selected stave of wood. Each stave is selected for its quality and straight grain, to ensure that the finished bow looks and performs efficiently and with accuracy. These bows are styled upon a traditional English longbow which were made from timbers such as yew, ash and oak. Each stave is then taken through a tillering process, being shaped by hand and eye in a slow and precise process by our experienced bowyers of more than forty years' experience. The finished bow is a beautiful, straight grained, performance self bow, which is suitable for target, field and reenactment events.
